Johnny Weissmuller’s ape-like cry is described in author Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan novels as ”the victory cry of the bull ape.” The cartoon above puts a whole new angle on that description.
Tarzan, otherwise known as Lord Greystoke, used his rousing war cry to scare off enemies and to summon help from his jungle animal friends. Jane, Tarzan’s lover and later his wife, is seen in the above image hanging onto Lord Greystoke’s most precious jewel and making the great ape man yodel a very different tune. What do you think Tarzan or Jane are thinking?
Can you think of a funny photo caption.
